The Beginning of the End

At the house of Bacillus Bacter: Bacillus - 2nd Gen. “spare heir” - Fortune (Perma Plat) - Elder; Mallory - Townie - Family (Have Golden Anniversary) - Adult; Cyto - 3rd Gen. - Pleasure (Have 50 Dream Dates) - Teen; Cyan - 3rd Gen. - Child; Codon - 3rd Gen - Toddler

With only four kids at home, Bacillus and Mallory thought their house felt a bit empty. Codon was the only baby left and Cyto was almost ready to graduate and Cyan was about to start high school. They had been doing a lot of discussing lately over the future of their family. Mallory wanted two more children. Bacillus thought it was about time for their childbearing to come to an end. It was a real dilemma. Bacillus was concerned for his wife’s health. After all, she wasn’t as young as she used to be and having children takes its toll on your body.

They had just about decided to call it quits on the childbearing when Mallory announced that she was once again pregnant.

Bacillus pleaded with her that this be their last child and after much discussion, Mallory finally agreed. Although, it killed her that she would come up one child short of their dream. Maybe she could talk him into adopting one more, then she wouldn’t have to be pregnant again. Maybe that would work.

Still Going Strong…Or Are They?

At the House of Bacillus Bacter: Bacillus - 2nd Gen. “Spare Heir”- Fortune (Perma Plat) - Elder; Mallory - Townie - Family (Have Golden Anniversary) - Adult; Gabriella - 3rd Gen. - Fortune (Earn 100K) - Teen; Chondria - 3rd Gen. - Romance (Become Mayor) - Teen; Cyto - 3rd Gen. - Child; Cystiene - 3rd Gen. - Toddler

When we last left the home of Bacillus and Mallory Bacter it was quite a full house with Mallory pregnant and expecting another baby at anytime.

Bacillus decided that having two teenage girls in the house in addition to another child on the way it was time to upgrade things a bit. One bathroom just wasn’t cutting it any more. He figured the kids could go on sharing bedrooms for the time being (at least until Cillia moved back home) but they really needed two more bathrooms. So Bacillus hired some contractors that could give him a good price. Mallory was less than thrilled because this meant that Bacillus went back to some of his old mob ties. He assured her they were just helping to construct the house and nothing else. When it was done the Bacters had two new bathrooms added to the floor plan.

The additions came just at the right time because another teenager was going to be in the house. Cyto was having his birthday. Mallory baked yet another cake (she was really good at cakes by now) and Cyto became a teenager:

Dates and Birthdays

At the household of Bacillus Bacter: Bacillus - Fortune (Perma Plat) - Adult; Mallory - Family (Golden Anniversary) -Adult; Cillia - Popularity (Become Mayor) - Teen; Gabriella - Fortune (Earn 100K) - Teen; Chondria - Romance (Become Mayor) - Teen; Cyto - Child; Cyan - Toddler; Cystiene - Infant

Bacillus and Mallory had their hands full with three teenage girls in the house. Sometimes it drove Bacillus crazy with all the hormones raging. Cillia was a senior in high school and he felt he didn’t have to worry much about her. She liked to hang out with her friends but never got herself into trouble and he was grateful for that. It was his two high school freshman, Gabriella and Chondria that he had to worry about; Chondria in particular. They wanted to start dating. Bacillus didn’t want them to date until they were sixteen. Gabriella seemed okay with this but Chondria, being the romancer that she is, was not. She drove her dad crazy to call the gypsy and have her set her up on a blind date. Bacillus was even less than thrilled about a gypsy setting up his daughter but in the end Bacillus conceded and let Chondria give her a call.

When the gypsy arrived Bacillus had to find something else to do, it bothered him far too much but he let Chondria do her thing. Chondria paid the gypsy over $2000 to set her up on a blind date (it was a good thing Bacillus had gone into the other room because he would have blown his top if he had known how much money his daughter paid.) The gypsy then introduced Chondria to a sophomore at her school named Irfan Haggerty. Chondria thought Irfan was cute even with his odd name. But even better: Irfan had a car. So, Irfan and Chondria drove downtown to the Hub.

The Hub was known for its food and the dancing so when they got there Irfan and Chondria got a table at the cafe right away.

The hostess took them to a booth and they sat down.
“The fried chicken here is fantastic,” Irfan told Chondria.
Since Chondria had never been to the Hub before turned to the waiter and said, “Yeah, I’ll have that.”
Irfan smiled, he liked that she followed his lead.

They chatted while they waited for their food and found out more about each other. Chondria was finding that she though Irfan was good looking but he wasn’t very bright. But glancing at his body, Chondria decided that he didn’t have to be bright for her to make-out with him.

After they ate (it turned out Irfan was right and the chicken was awesome) they headed back downstairs to the dance floor. Chondria spotted the Electro Dance Sphere, “Oooo, I am so going to try that!”
“Have you ever done it before?” Irfan asked.
“No.” But Chondria didn’t seem to care and dashed off toward the EDS and got in.

Irfan followed, he wasn’t going to miss this. He knew how people responded on their first spin in the EDS. Sure enough, the sphere started to spin and Chondria started to regret her decision to get in it.

When it finished, Chondria stumbled out and fell on the floor. Irfan was laughing at her and she was a little annoyed by his laughter. She gave him a dirty look and he stopped immediately. Their date had been fun but she decided she was not making out with a guy who laughed at her. So she said, “Irfan, this was fun but I have to be home. Its my dad’s and my sister’s birthday and I told my mom I’d help her with the party.” Irfan thought he would be invited back to her house but Chondria just pecked him on the cheek and called a cab home. She had his number and maybe she would go out with him again but she needed to go out with more guys than just Irfan.

More Madness

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Even with six children, Bacillus and Mallory have always prided themselves on their children’s academic performance. When Cell graduated high school and went to college he had recieved ample scholarship money for his continuing education. Cillia gets straight A’s herself and is applying to colleges now but Bacillus has no doubt that his eldest daughter will follow along in her brother’s footsteps. Bacillus and Mallory had a bit of a task with getting Gabriella’s grades up (they suffered when she lived with her mother) but they were successful in the end. Chondria recently brought home her first straight A report card and couldn’t help but rushing right in off the bus to show her mom. Mallory was of course beaming with pride. Another Bacter with straight A’s.

With all these kids running around life is hectic at the Bacillus Bacter household. It seems to him and Mallory that one of their children is always bringing a friend home from school. Some days, Bacillus comes home from work to find that Gabriella, Chondria and Cyto have all brought home friends and he walks into a slew of kids gathered in front of the television watching cartoons. He doesn’t mind too much, he is happy that his kids make friends so easily. Besides, he and Mallory are both active people and love kids and as far as they are concerned: the more, the better.

A Bustling Household

Life in Bacillus and Mallory Bacter’s home is anything but calm and quiet. With five children running around and another one on the way there is never a dull moment. Most mornings are utter chaos with Mallory trying to get all the kids ready for school and fed. Bacillus helps when he can but he has to get himself ready for work. Most mornings Mallory runs around smelly and hungry trying to accomodate her children. But a 8 am when that bus comes she has some time to breathe. That is until Cyto, the toddler, gets tired and cranky and starts screaming to go to bed. While Cyto naps Mallory is able to use the bathroom and shower and can usually get the house cleaned up before 3 pm comes around and the kids are home from school and Cyto is awake and the madness starts all over again. So, one might imagine Mallory’s frustration when she started to show during her 5th pregnancy (Simmer’s Note: Remember this is only the 5th pregnancy for Mallory but will make the 6th child since they adopted Gabriella.). With a growing belly it was going to be harder for Mallory to move around the house.

Gabriella’s New Home

Bacillus and Mallory had set out to prepare for adopting Francisella’s daughter, Gabriella. They were both excited to be able to bring their niece into their family. They had gone to visit Gabriella at the orphanage a couple of times and found that she was a quiet, sweet girl who was feeling very alone in the world. She warmed to them very quickly and was pleased to see that she did have family who cared for her after all. Her mother had never allowed her for a second to think that she might have aunts and uncles who wanted to see her and get to know her. It was all set and Gabriella would be moving in with Bacillus and Mallory within the week.

Before Gabriella was to move in, Bacillus and Mallory had to celebrate Cell’s birthday. He was becoming a teenager and was getting ready to start high school. Neither Bacillus nor Mallory could believe their baby boy was growing up so fast and they both knew that it wouldn’t be long before Cell was thinking of college. They were sad to see their beautiful children growing so quickly but happy to think about the new little one still growing within Mallory. It would be nice too now that Cell was in high school because he would be able to help out with the baby.

They couldn’t have Gabriella come because of some issues at the orphanage but Yersinia came with Legionella (Xavier stayed home with Listeria, who was just too young to take to a teenage birthday party.) Mallory had baked a cake and they celebrated Cell’s first step toward adulthood. He decided to follow along similar paths as his mother and wants to focus on having a family. This pleased Bacillus and Mallory because they knew he would help out when Gabriella and the new baby arrived.

Bacillus’s Family Grows

Mallory knew this baby was coming and she was somehow going to have to have it alone. She screamed out. To her surprise, Bacillus came rushing back into the house. She was in too much pain to speak but did manage to give him a puzzled look. He smiled at her and said, “Somehow, I just knew.” Bacillus held her hand and helped her deliver their third child. A baby girl with black hair and Bacillus’s piercing blue eyes. They named her Chondria.

Life with Bacillus and Mallory

Bacillus and Mallory returned from Anthracis’s funeral with the kids feeling a little down. Bacillus was upset that Francisella hadn’t made it to the funeral. Yersinia had told him that she was acting strangely. It was this that led Bacillus to give his youngest sister a call.
“Hello?”
“Francisella, this is Bacillus. If you hang up on me I will come to your house and beat your door down and force you to listen to me.” He paused for a few moments and when he didn’t hear her hang-up he continued, “First of all, why weren’t you at Dad’s funeral?”
“Why would I come to the funeral?”
“Well, how about the fact that it was your father.”
“He wasn’t my father.”
“Francisella, Dad loved you. Why do you say that?”
“If that was true, he would have made me heir.”
“What? How can you say that? If anyone should be upset about the heir situation it should be me. I’m the oldest.”
“He always treated me like his favorite and then he goes off and gives it to Yersinia!”
“Dad had his reasons. He was asking for you when he was dying and you weren’t there! I don’t think you deserved to be heir because of that!”
“Don’t lecture me about what I do and don’t deserve! I have no desire to speak to any of you ever again!”
“Francisella, what is going on? What did we do to you?”
“What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO? How can you ask me that? You know what you did!”
Bacillus was confused and he changed his tone to one that was more gentle, “Sella, I’m sorry, I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“Orlando, Bacillus! You got him killed! I know you are the Baby-Face they talk about! I know that it was you that made his hit go wrong! It is your fault that he’s dead!”
Bacillus felt his heart sink. How could Orlando be dead? He was just doing his job. He felt terrible. He knew how much his sister had loved Orlando and had never meant for anything like this to happen, “Sella, I’m so sorry. I was doing my job, just like Orlando was. I didn’t even know who it was until later. You have to believe me when I say I didn’t do it on purpose.”
“Just shut up, Bacillus! You never liked Orlando! It was your plan from the beginning. I hate you! I hate your stupid wife and kids! I hate Yersinia! And I hate Mom and Dad! Leave me alone!”
“Sella, please…” but it was too late, Francisella had hung up on him. Bacillus felt his heart breaking. He had hurt his sister and he couldn’t do anything to make it better. He couldn’t go by and see her because she had never told him where she lived. He brushed a tear out of his eye and went into his bedroom and stretched out on the bed.

He hadn’t been in their room long before Mallory came in. She could tell something was wrong so she climbed up on the bed and snuggled up beside her husband. It was exactly what Bacillus needed from her at that moment.

Bacillus’s Return

Several more days had passed and Mallory still had heard nothing from Bacillus. She was terrified. She called Lora and Anthracis to see if they had heard from him, they had heard nothing. She called Francisella who gave her a rather cold shoulder and asked her why she though Bacillus would ever tell her where he was. Mallory was a little confused but let it go. She was so scared that something terrible had happened to Bacillus.

As much as she wanted to sit and fret over Bacillus’s safety she had a toddler to care for. Cell seemed to notice the absence of his father and gave his mother all his love and devotion. Even as a toddler he had a strong desire to please her. So as Mallory taught him to walk he did so with great ease.

Bacillus and Mallory Become Parents

Bacillus had been spending more and more time at Don Santo’s headquarters. He had been pouring over layouts of Legacy Gallery. It was getting close to time when his heist of the Luna Disa was to go down. He was very grateful that Mallory was so understanding. He didn’t have to explain too much about the details of what he was doing. He didn’t really know what he was going to say if he was forced to.

The night of the heist came upon him. He had gone to bed with Mallory but waited for her to fall asleep before he slipped out of bed and out of the house to meet his team at headquarters. They had a couple close calls but by the time the night was over Bacillus had the Luna Disa in his hands and at 3 am he was handing the priceless painting over to Don Santo.

“Well done Bacillus, my son. You’ve have done well for over the years. You have risked your life on many occasions and I know you have a little one on the way. For the time being you will work in a less dangerous position. Family is important and you need to be there for your wife as she gives you your child. I have an extensive counterfeiting ring operating at the Warehouse. I want you to oversee it for me for the time being.”

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Bacillus was very grateful for his new assignment. This meant that he would work more normal hours and his chances of arrest were much lower. He would be able to spend more time with his child with this new assignment. He didn’t have to report to the Warehouse that day. Don Santo told him to go home and get some sleep and to spend some time with his wife. Bacillus was more than happy to do so.

He slept a little later and when he woke up both his parents were at the house. Mallory had called and asked them to come over. She was really needed some help around the house and with Bacillus working as much as he had been she couldn’t count on him to help. Anthracis and Lora stayed for dinner and it was during dinner that Mallory suddenly stood up with a look of surprise on her face.
“My water just broke!”
Lora quickly shooed the men from the room and rushed to Mallory’s side. She held her hand but when Mallory howled with pain Bacillus and Anthracis both rushed back into the room. The baby was coming.
