Legionella’s Decision

Legionella couldn’t believe the words that were coming over the phone line. Could Cell possibly be telling her the truth? She was in shock. Was it possible? How could it be? The story that Cell told her was one he had overheard from his father and mother once when he was a child. He didn’t say a word to anyone because he didn’t want them to know he had listened in. It was in fact the same story that Gordon had told her about his father except that the woman was her mother.

Legionella felt totally numb. She didn’t know how this was going to affect her relationship with Gordon. She was a little upset about his father’s history but that his father’s history was so directly tied to her own was something she could not conceive. She even had a fleeting thought that Gordon’s father could be her own father but she knew she got her red hair from her father and the numbers didn’t add up. She was silent.

Cell was a little concerned about the silence on the other end of the phone, “Ella. Ella, are you okay?”
Her cousin’s voice snapped Legionella back into present reality, “Yeah. Sorry. It’s just a lot to take in.”
“I know. Maybe you should talk to my dad about this. He seems to know more than anyone.”
Legionella nodded her head slowly as she said, “Yeah. I think that might be a good idea. But not today. I need to chew on this.”
“Of course.” Cell said, “Ella, I’m really sorry.”
“Thanks Cell.”

  1. Awww, well I’m glad for Legionella and I am so glad this family secret is out. If Ella and Gordon got through this ok, they can get through anything. Maybe now we can have closure on this whole traumatic incident in the family’s past and get on with life. Can’t wait to see the wedding!

  8. I am so glad Ella didn’t hold Gordon responsible for the sins of his father, no matter how closely it tied in with her own family. And I’m glad to see her uncle decided it was enough with hiding it away like some shameful thing, especially since his sister hadn’t done anything wrong. And congrats on getting the burglar into your legacy line! ;)
