Legionella’s Dilema
Legionella was quiet for a little while but then she turned to Gordon, “You never talk about your dad. You’ve mentioned your mom a few times but don’t say anything about your dad.”
Gordon sighed then drew in a deep breath. He had been hoping Legionella never asked about his father. His father was certainly no one to be proud of. “That’s because I hardly know my father.”
Legionella was a little taken aback. She had no idea, “Oh Gordon, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“I know you didn’t. But I guess we should be totally honest with each other.”
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
“No, no I do. Its just that, well, I’m a little ashamed of my father.”
“I’m ashamed of mine!”
“No, you don’t understand. What your dad did was awful but what my dad did was, well, it was unforgivable.”
Legionella was speechless. She wanted to know what Gordon’s father had done.
He continued, “I hate that I’m named for him! It almost feels like I did what he did and I NEVER would do such a thing.”
“What did he do?”
Gordon looked at her and she saw the tears in his eyes.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Its okay.” He took a deep breath, “Well, about thirty years ago, my dad broke into this house and robbed these people. He never got caught but the guy that owned the house saw him. Well, it turned out my dad became, uh, interested in this guy’s teenage daughter. She was only thirteen. My dad was twenty! So he started hanging around this house so he would catch this girl’s attention. Well, it worked because she started talking to him. This made her dad really upset. Can’t say that I blame the guy. I wouldn’t have wanted my daughter hanging around with the guy who robbed us, you know?”
Legionella nodded her assent.
“Well, he hung around for along time. This girl would sneak out to be with him and stuff. The kicker was he was married to my mom at the time. Now my mom didn’t know that he was breaking into people’s houses. She just thought he was busy with work. Well, time passed and this girl went to college. But she all of a sudden just stopped talking to my dad. Who can blame her right? Maybe she figured out how creepy he really was, I don’t know. Well my dad got mad and decided that he had waited all this time and worked her for so long that he was going to get from this girl what he wanted. So, he used his contacts in the crime world and tracked her down. He found her and he, he raped her.”
Legionella gasped. She never expected those words to come out of Gordon’s mouth.
“Did he get arrested?” she asked.

“Yeah, this girl had an older brother who lived with her at college. He heard her screaming and ran into the house to find my dad, well, you know. He was so mad he grabbed my dad and beat the crap out of him while this dude’s girlfriend called the cops. My dad was convicted of that and a few other charges that were dug up. Let’s just say he’ll be in jail for the rest of his life.”

Ouch the truth is finally going to come out wow this sure was a long time coming.

Hysterical names you’ve got there…too clever. And well written storyline. The stuff soap operas are made of!
Keep up the great work!

It’s aout time the girl figured it out. But it’s brave that Gordon decided to talk to her about it. Must be a burdon to live with, knowing your father (or you, in a previous lifetime
) did…

This is the worst update ever. You know why? Because I’m all caught up and now I have to wait too! Man, I want to find out her reaction, how he told her, what she did when she found out, if she talks to Gordon again, etc. I can’t take it! *sigh* I love it, Heather!
