A few days had passed since the incident between Yersinia and the burglar. Anthracis had let her go to Bacillus’s party, even though he knew full well that the “small get-together” was a lie. It didn’t seem to make much of a difference to Yersinia though, she was still mad at her father about Gordon.
One morning at breakfast Anthracis was trying to get her to speak. Lora had left for work already and she usually acted as a buffer between the two feuding family members. “So, Yersinia, what do you have planned for today?” She didn’t speak to him but just focused on her pancakes. Francisella looked from her sister to her father, she knew she should take this opportunity to get her father’s attention. But Anthracis spoke up again, “You know, anytime you want to bring friends of yours by, you can. What about that boy Ricky that was here? Anthracis just stared after her. Francisella looked at her father and then piped up, “Daddy, Daddy, guess what?” Anthracis snapped out of his daze and turned to his youngest child, “What is it, Sella?” “They are doing this play at school, Daddy, and guess who they want to play the lead, Daddy?” Anthracis smiled, “I have no idea who they could want.” “Daddy! They want me to!” “You!” Anthracis cried doing his best to sound utterly shocked. Francisella started to giggle and then got up from the table and hugged her dad. “Well,” Anthracis thought, “At least one of my daughters still thinks I’m something special.”
